Corfu

... is often (wrongly) said to be the largest of the Ionian Islands, or the most northerly Greek island.

The largest Ionian island is in fact Kefallonia, and the northernmost Greek island is Thasos, which is in the northern Adriatic (i.e. east of the Greek mainland).
